Memories from Carolyn Kennion

Created by Andrew 7 years ago
My first memories of Edith are of meeting her and the rest of the family at the New Church Federation holiday centre at Tarradale House, Muir of Ord in Scotland in 1971. She immediately struck me as a no-nonsense, commonsense sort of person with a can-do attitude to life. Edith was someone who spoke her mind but with kindness and a sense of humour.
Later I got to know her much better when for many years we worked alongside each other on the Sunday School Union Council which became the NCYA Council. Edith and Peter were a great partnership and supported each other in working to lead children to know the Lord and His love for them. They gave generously of their time and energy and regularly travelled long distances to attend council meetings and events. They often acted as hosts for residential schools and holiday centres.
Edith was devoted to her family and very proud of all of them; she enjoyed telling me about their progress and achievements.
I send my sincere sympathy to all the family as they adjust to the loss of Edith’s earthly presence. I hope that you feel comforted by your many happy memories and in the knowledge that she is now freed from physical suffering and reunited with Peter.
